Teaching Holiness

Principal Concepts for Teaching Holiness

The principal concepts in teaching the doctrine of holiness (sanctification) are:

         1. Holiness begins with one’s choosing to be a disciple of Christ.
         2. This choice requires separating oneself from all evil and taking hold of a life consecrated fully to Christ.
         3. All growth in Christlikeness must occur in relation to the cross of Christ and in the inner sanctuary of the soul.
         4. Development in this work of a lifetime has no end point.
         5. All praise for character development belongs to the Lord, for it is the joint work of the believer and the Holy Spirit.
